Many questions you have can and should be addressed to your local United Way. You can find your local United Way here. Otherwise, please read through these most frequently asked questions before submitting an inquiry.

  • I need financial assistance.

    United Way is not legally set up to provide direct financial assistance to individuals, but we work with many community partners that do. The best way to find available resources in your area is by calling 211, the 24/7 go-to help number, where real people (fluent in 180 languages) will connect you to locally available resources in your area, if you're in the U.S. or Canada. You can also go to 211.org and type in your ZIP code, anywhere in the U.S. or Canada.

    If you have trouble, you can call your local United Way and they may be able to point you in the right directionFind your local United Way.

  • I need help with medical issues, or other services.

    The best way to find available resources in your area is by calling 211, the 24/7 go-to help number, where real people (fluent in 180 languages) will connect you to locally available resources in your area, if you're in the U.S. or Canada. You can also go to 211.org, and type in your ZIP code, anywhere in the U.S. or Canada.

    If you are having medical issues, you might also want to check with the case manager/social worker at your local medical facility. They are often very helpful in accessing available resources. If you have trouble, you can call your local United Way and they may be able to point you in the right direction. Find your local United Way.

  • I want to request funding for my agency or project.

    This is a question for your local United Way, since almost all funding happens at the local level. Local United Ways are locally led, independently incorporated nonprofit organizations with their own grantmaking guidelines and local volunteers who make funding decisions for that community. Find your local United Way.

  • I am a veteran in need of help.
