Angela Williams, the first Black female CEO at United Way Worldwide, was recently featured on The CEO Show, a nationally syndicated radio show with 60,000 listeners. It's ranked as the No. 1 podcast for CEOs. Interviewer Robert Reiss, founder and CEO of The CEO Forum, focuses on transformational CEOs, i.e. those “who create new value that reinvigorates a company, reinvents an industry or reboots society.”
In the interview, Williams talked about United Way's 135-year history, and how its global reach & hyper-local presence fit into the fabric of society as a trusted partner for addressing critical problems in the community. She described United Way's three pillars of focus -- education, health and economic mobility -- and its role as a trusted advisor in the community, especially in times of crisis. Finally, Williams provided insights on aligning stronger partnerships with United Way's 45,000 corporate partners and managing its 1.5 million volunteers, guided by learnings from her family’s cross-military service, civil rights activism, her foundation of faith, and her own lessons learned as a leader.
